A 360 camera records its full resolution across a complete circle. When you reframe a normal 16:9 clip out of it, you only use the slice of that circle your field of view covers — so an 8K sphere at a typical 80-degree reframe yields roughly 1,700 pixels of width, which is under 2K. That is the number that decides how the footage looks on a television, and no maker prints it.
